We purchase good quality second hand books

We specialise in the following areas:

- Classic cookery books 1900-  (e.g.Julia Child, Elizabeth David, Jane Grigson)

- Modern literary fiction in English 1900-  (UK, Indian, Irish and American)

- Modern literary fiction translated from French and German 1945-

- UK classic children's vintage adventure stories 1930-

- UK classic children's story books and novels from the 1960s and 1970s

We prefer these books to be in their first edition, first impression state and in marketable condition. For advice, you are welcome to contact us after maybe consulting the information here.

We do not buy crime, fantasy, horror, romance, modern teen/young adult; nor usually any paperback book unless that is the first state.

How do I sell my books to you?

Please send us an email with as much as possible of the following information

Title

With dust jacket or not

Edition information

Condition - any missing pages; state of binding; any marks or inscriptions, foxing or spotting; general state of cleanliness and repair, state of dust jacket

Any other points you think noteworthy

Please include at least two photographs - usually of the front cover and the copyright page (publisher's information page).

For larger collections, please email or phone us directly to discuss. We can make home visits for appraisals, although please note we do not provide valuations for the purposes of insurance, probate etc.

How will I get paid?

We will make payment in whatever way suits the customer.
