This is a rare and handsome example of Hauff's tales, immensely popular in continental Europe, and presented here in a superbly illustrated, solid, hardback volume. The book has a lovely sky blue tint to top edge; many illustrations in colour throughout the book. In the jacket, there is a little yellowing to white panes and top corner of front flap clipped (although not the 36s/£1.80 price).
