Flat-signed by the author to the title page.  Cardiff-born Azzopardi's debut The Hiding Place was shortlisted for the 2000 Booker prize and was set, uniquely, among the immigrant Maltese community in Cardiff's 1960s Tiger Bay. That very well crafted sense of time and place is an excellent example of new Welsh writing. This book appears unread with no foxing, but some tanning started to page edges.
