Pietà
Publisher: Rupert Hart-Davis, 1967
Edition: 1st UK, 3rd impression
A very attractive example of Thomas' fifth collection of poems, published when he was then becoming an established poet in Britain but coming from a very well-defined place in Wales' growing output of Welsh writers in English. Kingsley Amis wrote on the front flap that Thomas' poetry reduces "most modern verse to footling whimsy". The jacket is price-clipped; title pane a little grubby.
