Moscow Is Not My Mecca
Publisher: Secker & Warburg, 1964
Edition: 1st UK, 1st impression
A controversial book, now being critically re-examined, by the British Guyanian author, which tells from first hand the experience of foreign students in the then USSR and how, while not wishing to write a standard anti-communist tract, Carew wished to expose the overt racism he experienced in the USSR and the Eastern bloc. The book has not been republished and is thus very rare. There is just a hint of foxing to the top edge and the jacket has some loss to top edge and spine extremities; rear a little grubby.
