Very rare UK first edition. Picador was the first to take on (and only in paperback) this unknown 20-year old's debut about a rich-but-unhappy student on the US West Coast. Then there was a film and the author went on to bigger things.  This poorly produced and well read book has lasted well but there is some tanning to page edges and pages 125-136 are loose.  No marks or inscriptions.  Original £2.95 price visible.
