Scarcer perhaps than the true first edition from 1953, this handsome and compact volume is signed without inscription by the author to the title page. The book is unmarked with no other inscriptions, with just a small amount of foxing to the preliminaries.  Cloth to spine top is a little worn and discoloured. Many attractive colour and b/w photographs. The jacket shows some losses, particularly to the spine top and top edge. Unclipped showing 4/6.  Very rare signed in this format.
