Presumed first edition of this 1930s crime classic. Undated but with 1932 gift inscription and other titles listed by publisher no later than 1931, this is perhaps a very early first or second printing. The book has a gift inscription to the front end paper but no other marks. There is no foxing or spotting although the text block edges are a little dusty and discoloured. The book leans forward slightly.
