Let's Go Climbing
Publisher: London: Nelson, 1941
Edition: 1st UK, 1st impression
Binding: Hardback
Rare first issue copy of the seminal mountaineering book, issued in 1941 with red price sticker of 4/6 intact. Aimed at young people it rapidly became a climbing bible to all, in the explosion in the pursuit's popularity post WW2. Kirkus himself was killed in that conflict. The book is very good, with some papery deposits to the contents page but very clean and tight inside with no marks or inscriptions. No foxing and nice blue tint to top edge. The jacket is good with some losses, as expected, but largely intact, very presentable and now all protected.
