A multi-layered story often said to be one of the finest UK mountaineering novels. This book is in the very scarce UK first impression and is in very good condition generally. There is a little discolouration to the text block edges and some foxing to the edges and the endpapers.  There are no marks or inscriptions. Internally, all is very clean and tidy. The jacket is largely intact although has losses to to some of the extremities, especially the spine top and bottom, with the rear panel a little grubby.
