A multi-layered story often said to be one of the finest UK mountaineering novels. This book is in the scarce UK second impression and is in very good condition with no foxing and just a previous owner's neat inscription to the front endpaper.  There is a little discolouration to the text block edges and some staining to the bottom edge. Internally, all is very clean and tidy. The jacket is largely intact although has losses to to some of the title lettering and spine corners.
