With fine explanatory illustrations throughout by James Holland, this is a stirring tale of two young cousins let loose in a boat in the challenging environment of the mountain sea lochs of northwest Scotland. The book is in very good condition while the jacket is good, suffering loss to the edge and a little grubby overall.

Showell Styles was a highly prolific author of children's adventure stories, set mainly in a mountaineering context, a pursuit in which he also excelled. He also wrote a series of non-fiction books on various mountaineering topics.
