Geoffrey Prout wrote extensively about the sea and young people's involvement in maritime activities such as the Sea Scouts, and here, Rangers. This reflected his background in boatbuilding and his founding and ownership of a successful caterman-building company. This book has very clean yellow boards, a nice pink tint to top edge and only an owner's inscription to the front end paper. The jacket is very good, intact, clean with just a little rubbing to top edge, and is price clipped.

...My Dad was absolutely delighted with it. He said the condition was "vintage" and it was absolutely everything he remembered it to be. I don't think I've ever seen my Dad as happy with something as he was with this. It is now going to be passed down through generations, starting with me and my children.
