A rare and very attractive set of the first four books in the Barney series, sometimes called the 'R' series.  These books are all in the correct first edition state, with only the third's jacket not being contemporaneous. Please note: the fourth book is not pictured here.

The Rockingdown Mystery (1949) First in the series with original dust jacket, book is near fine with only isolated foxing/spotting to the text block edges. Bookseller's discreet sticker to front paste down. Jacket is fine with only a little wear to extremities; very clean and bright.
The Rilloby Fair Mystery (1950) Second book in this series. Book is in near fine condition with attractive blue tint to top edge.  Internals are very clean with only a gift dedication to front end paper. Original jacket is very good with only some wear to extremities. Price-clipped.
The Ring O'Bells Mystery (1951) Third book in the series. Book is good with bumping to spine top and bottom and covers a little worn. Previous owner's name and address to front end paper. Internals are clean and tidy. Jacket is not original and is generally worn but intact.
(not pictured) The Rubadub Mystery (1952) Fourth book in the series. Book is good with pages evidently read - a little worn in places and a couple of small tears. Some foxing to front edge but nice red stain to top edge. No marks or inscriptions. Original jacket is very good, little cracked in places, but unclipped, showing 5/- net. Pictures of this book on request.
