Scarce set of two books from the aristocrat, socialite, novelist - and gardener. Famous of her purchase of Sissinghurst Castle in Sussex and her development of the garden there (now National Trust). These books collect West's articles for the Observer newspaper in the early 1950s. In Your Garden: 2nd impression 1951; no jacket, book fine, owner's inscription to paste down, no marks or inscriptions, binding to rear cover a little loose. In Your Garden Again: 1st impression 1955, lovely jacket (price-clipped), fine. Book with ex-libris sticker to paste down; otherwise no marks except for jacket offset to paste downs. Lovely book.

...My Dad was absolutely delighted with it. He said the condition was "vintage" and it was absolutely everything he remembered it to be. I don't think I've ever seen my Dad as happy with something as he was with this. It is now going to be passed down through generations, starting with me and my children. We'll have to make sure the cover stays on and it's held with very gentle hands!!
