Rare US and historic first edition from 1933 and the first English edition before the 1934 UK Methuen release. This book is evidently read but retains the fresh and vibrant illustrations as first published. In large storybook format, the front and rear boards, themselves a little grubby through wear, are detaching slightly but the binding is otherwise good. Some pages are thumbed with occasional slight marks. There are no unusual marks, scribbles or colouring. There is a neat owner's inscription to the rear of the title page.
